T-Line Newsletter December 3, 2003

Senior Friendship Tour Update

Important and exciting information came my way after the T-Line went out a couple weeks ago. The news was that Schenectady had the honor of winning against the Canadians. This was the Canadians first lost since they had been on the tour. The Schenectady team that won was made up of Dorothy Szymaszek, MJ Miller, Ursula Hilborn and Anne Hartranft. Great Game Ladies!

Many Thanks are Due

Despite the lousy weather the SCC float made it to the Schenectady Christmas Parade. Thanks to Dot Dever for help in painting the deck of the flat bed. Thanks to John DeWitt, Ann Ruhman and Geoff for stapling the flags onto the deck. Thanks to Al Doty for designing and building the ice sheets and painting the houses. Thanks to Shirley Burgess for setting up the Christmas tree, arranging the lights and to Ann Ruhman again for decorating the branch with the Olympic Medals and for use of a large tarp. Thanks to Jeff Mayott for the use of the generator and the flatbed. Thanks to Jim Ridenour for his encouragement.

Thanks to Pete Sheehan for towing the float in the Parade and to Dottie Sheehan, official photographer, for running up state street trying to take a picture.

Thanks to Dion Warr and Victor Rodriguez for riding on the float and getting cold and we on our behalf.

Lastly, thanks to Nancy Wurth for agreeing to store our ice sheets for use again next year. A huge thanks again to Al Doty for help in disassembling the whole thing.

Thanks to All,
Jane Caruvana
