Want to Try Curling?
Have you seen a game of curling and thought you would love to play this interesting
sport? Then why not stop by the Schenectady Curling Club and give it a shot? We
welcome everybody to come during our open houses or any time during the curling
season. For a donation of $5 (kids are free), we will give brief curling instructions, show you
how to throw stones and even give you the opportunity to throw a few stones
yourself. Curling is a lot of fun and it's great exercise. Don't spend another
winter season with cabin fever!
Open House Schedule For February 2010
Stop by any time during these times:
- Saturday, February 20: 10:00 am — 4:00 pm
- Sunday, February 21: 10:00 am — 4:00 pm
What Do I Need?
Just your warm clothing (layers help), sneakers, and a sense of humor. Curling is a low
cost, high fun sport. Nearly all of the equipment necessary to play is provided by the club.
Please do not bring skates, skates will ruin our ice.
Joining the Club
If you find that curling is for you, the club has a number of
leagues to fit your schedule and needs. Visit our
leagues section for more information about them.
Join as many or as few as you wish, all at no extra charge, once you're a member. Being a member also means you are part of the GNCC
and you are eligible to go to other clubs for bonspiels (tournaments) which is the very
heart of the sport of curling. The opportunities are endless. To join, come to one
of our open houses to get more information. If you are unable to make one of the
scheduled open houses, do not despair. Just give us a call or drop us an email.
We would love to have you aboard.
Where is This Place?
The Schenectady Curling Club is conveniently located on 1084 Balltown Road across
the street from the Niskayuna Fire Station. We have
directions to the club, for your convenience.
We hope to see you on the ICE!
